Funding and granting programs
LEAD grants are designed to sustain evidence-based change within healthcare organizations. They support the creation of new knowledge about successfully implementing evidence-informed management and policy decisions.
A unique funding model that goes beyond traditional research funding to promote high potential-impact research, high-quality capacity-building initiatives, and effective dissemination and implementation of results. REISS was developed in consultation with researchers, decision-makers and funders across Canada.
A $25-million endowment from the federal government created in 1999 to develop nursing researchers and to support research on nursing recruitment, retention, management, and the issues emerging from health system restructuring.
From 1998 to 2004, the Open Grants Competition served as the flagship research funding program of CHSRF. In 2005, CHSRF transferred the project portion of the Open Grants Competition to the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
